Salad days explores the Japanese concept of 'Ma'. This esoteric expression roughly translates to ‘gap’, ‘space’ or ‘pause’. The empty space represents that certain void young people often experience. That constant feeling that there is something to be waiting for. The boredom of waiting to finish education, waiting for a job, waiting to be treated equally. This is where our thoughts gather, our issues, our worries and the gaps in between. 

These continually surround us.
